Ослабление сигнала на трассе, определяемое в предположении, что все мешающие его распространению факторы (вызывающие рассеивание или отражение радиоволн) устранены и не оказывают никакого воздействия на среду распространения, которая считается свободным пространством. Расчет потерь осуществляется по формуле L=(4πd/λ)2, где d - расстояние между передающей и приемной антенной, λ - длина волны.
